FAQ

Automotive PCBA FAQs

Q

Can you track every part used in our products?

Yes. We record which supplier each part comes from and keep quality inspection records with photos. For critical automotive parts, we can track every single component by serial number and provide full history reports.

Q

Can you solder small complex chips like BGA?

Yes. We can handle tiny components and complex chip packages such as BGA with very fine pin spacing. We use X-ray machines to check solder connections hidden under the chips and can provide detailed inspection reports.

Q

How do you check solder joints that are hidden from view?

We use X-ray inspection to see through the chip and verify the solder connections underneath. For standard production, we check a sample of units. For safety-critical applications, we can inspect every single board and combine this with automated optical scanning.

Q

Can you create custom tests for our circuit boards?

Yes. We build special test fixtures based on your requirements. This includes loading software onto the chips, powering up the board to check functions, and running specific tests for your application. The test equipment belongs to you and can be stored for future production.

Q

How do you handle part replacements or design changes?

We maintain a list of approved suppliers and alternative parts for common components. Any change to the design requires formal documentation and your written approval before we implement it. We also monitor supplier notifications about parts becoming obsolete.

Q

What documents do you need for a price quote?

Please send your parts list (BOM), circuit board manufacturing files (Gerber), and how many units you need per year. Also let us know if you need protective coating, specific testing requirements, or compliance with automotive standards such as AEC-Q or PPAP levels.
